1) Editing Web Page Names

To manage the pages on your website, first log into your account at login.freewebsite.com and click on “Manage Website.”

manage website

This will open up your website builder, which will look similar to the image below:

To edit the name of one of your web pages, click on the “Pages” button in the left-hand menu, and then click the gear icon next to the page name you want to change.

This will open up the settings for that page, and from there you can edit your page name:

Be sure to click the “Save” button when you’re done!

2) Creating & Deleting Pages

To delete a page of your website, just click the “Pages” button in the left-hand menu and then click the red minus sign next to the page you want to delete:

 delete page

This will pop up a message asking if you’re sure you want to delete that page. You can then choose to delete or not to delete that page. (Note: You cannot delete your homepage.)

To create a new page, click the “+ Add Page” button on the Pages menu:

add page

(NOTE: The website plan you chose when you signed up determines how many pages you can have on your website. If you are at your max number of pages, clicking the “Add Page” button will prompt you to upgrade your website plan. You can also delete other pages to create new ones in their place.)

This will prompt you to choose what kind of new page you want to create. You can choose one of our template pages, or create a blank page and customize it however you want:

choose page type

When you choose the kind of page you want to make, you’ll be taken to the settings panel for the new page. This is where you can:

  • Name your page
  • Update your SEO meta data
  • Choose what kind of layout you want for your page
  • Choose whether or not to show your new page in your website’s navigation menu
  • Customize your page URL

create new page settings

Once you’ve chosen all of your settings, click the “Save” button.

3) Managing Your Page Settings

To edit the settings for any of your pages, click on the gear icon next to the page you want to edit:

edit page gear

This will open up the settings screen for that specific page. This is where you can:

  • Name your page
  • Update your SEO meta data (page title, page description, keywords)
  • Choose what kind of layout you want for your page
  • Choose whether or not to show your new page in your website’s navigation menu
  • Customize your page URL

create new page settings

When you are done updating your settings, be sure to click the “Save” button.

4) Rearranging Pages & Creating Sub-Pages

You can also rearrange the order of your web pages by clicking on the area circled below and dragging the page up or down in the list:

rearrange pages

Besides dragging pages into a different order, you can add sub-pages to your main pages. For example, in the image above, the Home, About Us, Contact Us, and Resources pages will all show up as separate pages in your website navigation:

But let’s say you want your “Resources” page to be a sub-page of your “About Us” page. To do that, drag the “Resources” page under the “About Us” page and indent it:

sub page

Now “Resources” will show up as a sub-page of “About Us,” instead of a separate entry in your website navigation:

sub page 2

5) Changing Your Page Layout

When you create a new page, or would like to edit an existing page, you can also change that page’s layout. To do so, go to the Settings for the page your wish to edit. On the right side of the Settings screen for that page, you can change the template and layout for that page:

When you are done, be sure to click “Save.”

 6) Publish Your Changes

When you are done making all of your updates, click the “Publish” button in the upper right-hand corner of the web builder, so that your changes will go live on your website.

publish button

If you don’t click “Publish,” your updates won’t show up on your website!
